There is a substantial and growing worldwide demand foralternative fuels. Worldwide biodiesel demand is expected to reach 2.79 million tons (44.8 billion gallons) by 2010 – growing at a compounded rate of just more than 30 percent. For transportation and off-road industries, biodiesel is the fuel of choice.

However, supply continues to lag demand. Finding customers for refined biodiesel from vegetable oils or other feedstock is not the problem.

The limitation to growth in this market is the selection of a suitable feedstock and the land on which to grow it. This limitation occurs largely because

  • Almost all feedstocks currently in use are also food crops (e.g., sunflower, soy, palm, corn, etc.)

    • Therefore prices are being bid up faster than the price of diesel itself

    • Food production is being diverted in spite of widespread hunger

  • Most feedstocks consume almost as much energy to produce the biodiesel as the biodiesel itself will produce (see table at right). Jatropha is the notable exception energy output is 20 times energy inputs and Jatropha is not a food crop.

Abundant Biofuels Corporation will develop biodiesel feedstock plantations, refineries, and distribution channels in the Americas and Asia.

We have assembled an experienced, committed team to provide

  • Better life for the local farmers

  • Positive change for the environment

  • Substantial return for our investors

Abundant Biofuels is an integrated energy company. It follows the profitable “oil field” development model. There are, however, obvious (and significant) differences.

Abundant Biofuels’ jatropha oil fields:

  • Are renewable

  • Earn carbon credits by sequestration of carbon dioxide

  • Will definitely produce oil (not “wildcatting” speculation)

  • Do not contaminate useful agricultural land

  • Will provide economic stimulus to relatively impoverished rural areas

After weighing the benefits and limitations of many feedstock candidates, Abundant Biofuels selected jatropha curcas as the primary feedstock.

It is drought- and pest-resistant; irrigation and pesticides will not be needed.

Abundant Biofuels agronomists believe that yields can be significantly improved with proprietary agronomy techniques.

Abundant Biofuels has a strong commitment to improving the working conditions and welfare of the local workers who farm our crop. We will allocate a portion of our net income to building infrastructure where needed in the form of schools, clinics, roads, wells, and other local support facilities.
