4 Human and Labor Rights - Biofuel production shall not violate human rights or labor rights, and shall ensure decent work and the well-being of workers.

Company complies with all of the treaty obligations under the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the ILO’s Decent Work Agenda.  ABC strives to work within tribal structures providing agronomy and agriforestry guidance to tribal leaders who, in turn, select / supervise / manage field work.   Child, slave and forced labor is not permitted.   The Company allocates part of its profits to providing health care for all workers and their families, housing, and education.   The Company applies U.S. standards of occupational safety and health for workers and their communities.   Its long-term goal is to transfer all plantation management to the indigenous peoples.  Therefore, the Company provides scholarships for university education in agribusiness.

5 Rural and Social Development - Biofuel production shall contribute to the social and economic development of local, rural and indigenous peoples and communities.

ABC pays a living (above-poverty) wage equal to or above the UN 2015 anti-poiverty goals.   ABC contributes a substantial portion of the profits to indigenous peoples based upon the first arms-length sale to an unrelated party.  In general, ABC does not rely upon outgrower schemes, preferring instead to be responsible for working conditions.

6 Food Security - Biofuel production shall not impair food security.

ABC will not take agricultural land out of production.   We use underutilized land or degraded/non-arable land.   The Company does not engage in deforestation,   We minimize water usage.

7 Conservation and Biodiversity - Biofuel production shall avoid negative impacts on biodiversity, ecosystems, and areas of High Conservation Value.

Our primary goal is to reforest denuded lands and to restore watersheds.   Before initiating development of any land, ABC uses a consulting firm to do a comprehensive environmental impact study.   We will not directly or indirectly engage in deforestation.   Typically the Company obtains before and after satellite photos of the land.   Buffer zones separate the plantation from surrounding villages.  Based upon the environmental study, Abc will protect or restore ecological corridors.

8 Soil - Biofuel production shall promote practices that seek to improve soil health and minimize degradation.

Our primary goal is to reforest denuded lands and to restore watersheds.   We use “no-till” planting.  After digestion to eliminate methane, the cake will be reapplied to the soil to eliminate the need to apply chemical fertilizer thereby restoring and enhancing the soil.
