Abundant Biofuels
Corporation is committed to sustainable development. The Company has
chosen a crop that will grow for 40 – 50 years after planting and can be
harvested almost continuously after the first eight months. Abundant
Biofuels commits itself to establishing and maintaining the highest
standards. In the 21st Century, that is simply good
business!
The Roundtable on
Sustainable Biofuels is an international multi-stakeholder
initiative based out of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne
(Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne). It has been
actively developing standards on sustainable biofuels. The following
discussion is based upon the most recent draft of its standards.

of Principles by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels |
Abundant Biofuels Corporation (ABC) Has Committed to and Continues to
Follow the Roundtable Principles |
| 1 |
Legality
- Biofuel production shall follow all applicable laws of the country
in which they occur, and shall endeavour to follow all international
treaties relevant to biofuels' production to which the relevant
country is a party. |
ABC’s
in-country counsel is charged with the responsibility to review all
transactions for legal compliance. In addition, the Company complies
with all of the U.S. and host country treaty obligations including the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations
Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. |

Consultation,
Planning and Monitoring
- Biofuels projects shall be designed and operated under appropriate,
comprehensive, transparent, consultative, and participatory processes
that involve all relevant stakeholders. |
Before
beginning to plant, ABC held a widely-advertised Stakeholders
Conference to explain our goals and objectives and the method of
plantation operations. The meeting was monitored by an outside
consulting firm. Because of the scope of the project, ABC has
collaboratively prepared an environmental and social impact assessment
and an impact mitigation plan. To assure transparency and
stakeholder representation, the subsidiary management and board
consists only of host country nationals. One of the board members
is the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Datus
Alimaong
representing the indigenous peoples. |

Climate
Change and Greenhouse Gas
- Biofuels shall contribute to climate change mitigation by
significantly reducing GHG emissions as compared to fossil fuels. |
ABC
strives to reduce or mitigate GHG emissions. Jatropha is planted once
and grows 40+ years sequestering carbon. All planting and harvesting
activities are labor intensive. Goats provide weed control.
Vehicles and off-road equipment are being designed to operate on
biofuels. Crushing / refining is processed on each plantation. The
cake is processed through a digester to extract the methane. The
refined oils and biofuels are sold in the host country |
