Philippines:
Under an
agreement with the Supreme Council of Datus Alimaong, 1,250,000 acres of Lumad ancestral lands will be planted with jatropha curcas under Abundant
Biofuels Corporation’s farm management.
ABC’s Farm
Management Plan begins with
small steps.
In the first year, ABC will establish six “plantations” of 2500 acres
each. Then, with separate plantation management teams, each of
those plantations will plant 25,000 acres in Year 2 and 100,000 acres in
Year 3. By the end of the third year, ABC will have planted more
than 750,000 acres that, when mature in the fifth year will produce a
joint venture profit of more than $300 million.
